I want to thank you all for coming today. It means a lot to have you here. My father was an interesting man. He could be tough as nails, or be the warmest, kindest person you ever met. He was born and raised in NY and after serving in the air force, he became a partner in his fathers fur business. He started to dabble in real estate and soon decided that south Florida would offer a better life for his family. When he moved to Florida he went to school to get his real estate license. Then he got his brokers license. He kept studying and also received a mortgage license. He owned two buildings in Coral Gables and decided to get a pool license so he can take care of the pools himself in the buildings. When he sold the buildings he retired but it didn't take long for him to get bored. He went back to school and got a CAM license to run condominiums. When he wanted to move on, he went back to school to get a mediators license from the Florida Supreme Court. Nothing ever stopped his desire to learn and move forward. He had an amazing business mind and his advice was always based on logic and intelligence.
I will miss his knowledge, his sense of humor, and his enthusiasm to help the people he cared about. While he was difficult at times, he was always there when anyone needed him. I will certainly miss not being able to call on him. My father was respected, and loved, by many people. He was an inspiration to anyone who was lucky enough to really get to know him, and I was lucky enough to have him as my father.
